On the Web : February 2008

Our contributions to the South Jersey Radio Association club bulletin "Harmonics" includes lengthy Web addresses. As the URL's can be difficult or a nuisance to type into your Web browser, the postings here should make it easier to get to the Web sites SJRA members are interested in. Look for the posting at w2xq.com at the time "Harmonics" is scheduled for delivery in the south Jersey area. Questions, suggestions or contributions are always welcome. |

New repeaters on air
K2JZO, John, now has his 70 cm repeater on the air. It's located in Bordentown, on the same site as the former K2RFI machine that went silent upon K2RFI moving to Florida last year. K2JZO is on 449.025, PL 203.5, and coverage is good. Mobile coverage finally drops off, going south, at Atsion Lake; I can get into the repeater from my location just north of the Red Lion Circle. The 223.860 (PL 131.8) in Browns Mills went on the air the first weekend of February, but the system (for now) is low profile. IRLP will be coming onto the system, but may be delayed until the Browns Mills installation has a higher profile. Have questions? You can also find John on BEARS 444.200 et al during drive times.
Quickies
I haven't had a chance to evaluate the usefulness of the propagation forecast data prepared by KN4LF, but you can check out his propagation — LF, MF, HF and 6M — info at kn4lf.com/kn4lf6h.htm and see what you think. Let us know.
It's still not to late to get to the March 2008 Winter SWL Festival, the 21st annual gathering of the faithful, in Kulpsville. Details and a map at swlfest.com and other Web sites linked thereto. Kulpsville is about an hour's drive from Burlington and Camden counties, one exit north on the PATP NE extension.
